I started this blog two months into my first full-time post-college job, working in philanthropy. Before applying to work at this foundation I had never even considered working for a foundation. Only eight weeks later, I felt the giving-bug creeping up more and more every day. Giving has always been in my bones. Giving is a part of my family and religious culture. It’s something we do by nature, but not something I have ever truly taken the time to think about.

This blog is my chance to explore the act of giving. Why do I give? Where do I give to? And how can I be a part of making our world a more generous place?

Want to know about me?

I’m Amalyah, a young NYU grad living with my sidekick, Lady, on the island of Manhattan.
