Goods for Good: Dog Edition

Dog Matchmaker

Rescue Leash by Found My Animal, sold on thedogmatchmaker.org

As a dog owner who loves to spend her spare change on her (not so) little pooch, I’m always looking for ways to do good (or at the very least do less damage) with the pet supplies I buy. Thankfully, there are tons of options out there for people looking for socially conscious animal toys, food, and more!

Here’s my roundup…

The Rescue Leash, by Found My Animal: Orange is the official color for dog rescue, which means that when your dog sports its bright new leash, you’re also spreading the rescue love. It gets sweater, though, because when you purchase your leash through Foster Dogs NYC or The Dog Matchmaker you are directly supporting two wonderful dog adoption organizations.

The BarkBox: This monthly subscription package includes top-quality dog products for only $17 per box, and 10% from each box goes directly to rescue groups.

Tuff Plush toys: Made from organic wool and recycled materials, your dog will feel good knowing its sharp teeth are digging into eco friendly material…Or at least you will.

Zack & Zoey Hoodie: When you purchase anything from The Animal Rescue Site, you provide bowls of dog food to dogs in shelters. My dog just started strutting her stuff in this Zack & Zoey hoodie and can’t say enough good things about it (get it? get it? cause she can’t..cause she’s a dog). But really. The hoodie is great.

Finally, why not get yourself a little something while shopping for your dog! I recently bought this tee made by SocialPakt, an apparel company raising funds for various animal welfare groups.
